Audubon, NJ
Audubon is a somewhat small borough located in the state of New Jersey. With a population of 9,182 people and three constituent neighborhoods, Audubon is the 224th largest community in New Jersey. Audubon has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic boroughs in the country.
Unlike some boroughs where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Audubon is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Audubon is a borough of sales and office workers, professionals, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Audubon who work in office and administrative support jobs (17.25%), sales jobs (11.94%), and teaching (8.45%).
Also of interest is that Audubon has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.
In addition, Audubon is home to many people who could be described as "urban sophisticates." Urban sophisticates are people who are both educated and wealthy, and thus tend to be older, richer, and more established than young professionals. "Urban sophisticates" is not just about being educated and well-off financially: it is a point of view and state of mind, one that you might call 'urbaneness.' But such people can and do regularly live in small towns, suburbs and rural areas, as well as in big cities. They read, support the arts and high-end shops, and love travel.
Audubon is a small borough, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
