About Bigfork

Bigfork is a very small town located in the state of Montana. With a population of 1,395 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Bigfork is the 61st largest community in Montana.

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Bigfork is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Bigfork is a town of sales and office workers, managers, and professionals. Of important note, Bigfork is also a town of artists. Bigfork has more artists, designers and people working in media than 90% of the communities in America. This concentration of artists helps shape Bigfork's character.

Bigfork is a small town, and as is often the case with smaller towns, the population isn't large or dense enough to support much in the way of a public transportation system. In fact, there are many rural roads around Bigfork, which makes walking or biking to and from work a bit difficult. This makes for a very car-oriented town: 98.36% of residents commute to work by private automobile, and people often drive out of town for work, shopping, and other activities.

Bigfork is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
