Springfield real estate can be found in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts within the Northeastern region of the United States. As of 2000, U.S. Census real estate statistics reported that the city had a total population of 152,082. A 2003 U.S. Census real estate statistic estimate put the city's population at 152,157, making it the third largest in Massachusetts.
Springfield, home to the Basketball Hall of Fame, sits on the bank of the Connecticut River, just a few miles north of the Massachusetts-Connecticut State Line. Along the River, Springfield real estate is fairly low and flat. Moving outward from the river, the terrain becomes more hilly. The Quadrangle, an extraordinary grouping of museums and sculpture gardens, remains a testament to the city's nineteenth-century grandeur.
Forest Park lies in the southwestern part of the city, along the border with Longmeadow. The park is one of the largest municipal parks in the United States. The city also shares borders with the towns of Wilbraham, Ludlow and the city of Chicopee. Springfield real estate also borders cities of Agawam and West Springfield from across the Connecticut River.*
