Boyds is a very small town located in the state of Maryland. With a population of 1,879 people and just one neighborhood, Boyds is the 248th largest community in Maryland.

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Boyds is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Boyds is a town of professionals, managers, and sales and office workers. On the other hand, local public transit is widely used in the town, so leaving the car at home and taking transit is often a viable alternative.

In Boyds, a lot of people use the train to get to work every day even though Boyds is a relatively small town. Those that ride the train are primarily traveling out of town to good jobs in other cities.
