Hamlet, IN Information

About Hamlet

Hamlet is a tiny town located in the state of Indiana. With a population of 841 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Hamlet is the 349th largest community in Indiana.

When you are in Hamlet, you'll notice that it is more blue-collar than most other communities in America. 50.1% of Hamlet's employed work in blue-collar jobs, while America averages only 24.7% that do. Overall, Hamlet is a town of production and manufacturing workers, sales and office workers, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Hamlet who work in office and administrative support jobs (11.97%), sales jobs (7.69%), and management occupations (6.55%).

Hamlet is very much a car-oriented town. This is because the population of Hamlet isn't large enough or dense enough to support an extensive public transit system. It has a lot of rural roads, and the distance between houses can be quite large, which together tends to discourage walking and bicycling to work. 98.19% of residents commute to work in their own car (and the drive is typically to a job out of town). People also tend to drive out of town for other services as well, such as shopping, doctors appointments, and more.

Hamlet is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
