Commerce, GA Information

About Commerce

Commerce is a somewhat small city located in the state of Georgia. With a population of 5,207 people and three constituent neighborhoods, Commerce is the 162nd largest community in Georgia.

Commerce is neither predominently blue-collar or white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Commerce is a city of sales and office workers, service providers, and production and manufacturing workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Commerce who work in sales jobs (15.40%), office and administrative support jobs (11.59%), and management occupations (6.40%).

Commerce is very much a car-oriented city. This is because the population of Commerce isn't large enough or dense enough to support an extensive public transit system. It has a lot of rural roads, and the distance between houses can be quite large, which together tends to discourage walking and bicycling to work. 97.35% of residents commute to work in their own car (and the drive is typically to a job out of town). People also tend to drive out of town for other services as well, such as shopping, doctors appointments, and more.

Commerce is a small city, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
