About North Palm Beach

North Palm Beach is a somewhat small coastal village (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of Florida. With a population of 12,129 people and three constituent neighborhoods, North Palm Beach is the 201st largest community in Florida.

North Palm Beach is a decidedly white-collar village, with fully 85.88% of the workforce employed in white-collar jobs, well above the national average. Overall, North Palm Beach is a village of sales and office workers, professionals, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in North Palm Beach who work in sales jobs (17.07%), office and administrative support jobs (13.07%), and management occupations (12.75%).

Of important note, North Palm Beach is also a village of artists. North Palm Beach has more artists, designers and people working in media than 90% of the communities in America. This concentration of artists helps shape North Palm Beach's character.

Seniors make up 30.96% of North Palm Beach's population, making it a popular place to retire. Because of the prominence of the retirement community, North Palm Beach is good place for those over 65 to settle, as they will find many opportunities for socializing, as well as having access to many services oriented toward seniors.

One of the nice things about North Palm Beach is that is it nautical, meaning that parts of the village are somewhat historic and on the ocean, or touch tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and tidal rivers. Because of this, visitors and locals will often go to these areas to take in the scenery or to enjoy waterfront activities.

Residents of North Palm Beach by-and-large get to work each day by driving: 96.9% use their own cars for their daily commute, making it a very car-oriented village. While North Palm Beach may be a convenient place for driving around town, the negative aspect of this is that places that are suitable for walking or bicycling to and from work or stores may be few and far between. In general, car-oriented communities emphasize roads and convenience of driving, but not have a lot of walking-friendly areas to get from home to work, and tend not to have a lot of public transportation options.

Even though North Palm Beach is a smaller village, it has many people who hop on public transportation - mostly taxis - for their daily commute to work. Typically, these people are commuting to good jobs in the surrounding cities.
