About Everglades

Everglades is a tiny coastal city (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of Florida. With a population of 482 people and just one neighborhood, Everglades is the 477th largest community in Florida.

Unlike some cities , Everglades isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Everglades are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Everglades is a city of service providers, sales and office workers, and farmers, fishers, or foresters. There are especially a lot of people living in Everglades who work in sales jobs (18.27%), food service (9.14%), and office and administrative support jobs (8.63%).

Everglades is an extremely popular vacation destination. A significant portion of the population is seasonal. During the vacation season, the city experiences a large influx of people who take up residence in second homes they own in the area. As the vacation season ends, the population drops again, leaving behind a substantially quieter and smaller city.

The city is also nautical, which means that parts of Everglades are somewhat historic and bounded by the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and tidal rivers. Such areas are often places that visitors and locals go for waterfront activities or taking in the scenery.

One of the benefits of Everglades is that there is very little traffic. The average commute to work is 15.03 minutes, which is substantially less than the national average. Not only does this mean that the drive to work is less aggravating, but noise and pollution levels are lower as a result.

Being a small city, Everglades does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.
