Gypsum is a very small town located in the state of Colorado. With a population of 4,939 people and just one neighborhood, Gypsum is the 77th largest community in Colorado.

Because occupations involving physical labor dominate the local economy, Gypsum is generally considered to be a blue-collar town. 37.6% of the Gypsum workforce is employed in blue-collar occupations, compared to the national average of 24.7%. Overall, Gypsum is a town of construction workers and builders, sales and office workers, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Gypsum who work in office and administrative support jobs (14.24%), management occupations (10.10%), and sales jobs (8.10%).

Being a small town, Gypsum does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.

Gypsum is a somewhat ethnically-diverse town. The people who call Gypsum home come from a variety of different races and ancestries. The most prevalent race in Gypsum is White, followed by Native American. Gypsum also has a sizeable Hispanic population (people of Hispanic origin can be of any race). People of Hispanic or Latino origin account for 28.97% of the town's residents. Important ancestries of people in Gypsum include German, English, Irish, French, Italian, and Norwegian.
