San Bernardino County real estate is located within the largest county in the contiguous United States by area, enveloping more land than nine states. Found in southeast California, in the Western region of the United States, San Bernardino County stretches from the border of Los Angeles to the Nevada limits. As a result of the development of San Bernardino real estate, the famous US Route 66 was constructed to connect populated areas of the Midwest to Southern California. San Bernardino was made quite famous with Route 66 passing through it as the major highway reached all the way to Santa Monica.
Named by the Franciscans in honor of Saint Bernardino of Siena, the county has three major areas: the Mojave Desert, the San Bernardino Mountains, and the San Bernardino Valley, with the vast majority of it being desert. Its southwestern portions (the valley and mountains) are considered to be part of the Inland Empire region of Southern California, a bi-county area (combination of San Bernardino County and Riverside County). Visitors and residents alike enjoy an array of scenic activities, including winter sports in the San Bernardino Mountains and hikes to the well-known national arrowhead landmark in Lake Arrowhead within the San Bernardino Valley.
Where do folks purchase wealthy San Bernardino homes? In San Bernardino, the county seat and in Victorville within the Mojave Desert region. The mountains are home to luxurious Big Bear City and the San Bernardino Valley includes such affluent cities as Redlands, Grand Terrace, Highland, Colton, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga and Yucaipa.*
