About Cave Creek

Cave Creek is a medium-sized town located in the state of Arizona. With a population of 23,731 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Cave Creek is the 25th largest community in Arizona.

There's nothing like the smell of a brand new house, and in Cave Creek, you'll find that a large proportion of houses were recently built. New growth in residential real estate is an indication that people are choosing to move to Cave Creek, and putting down their money on brand new construction. Cave Creek's real estate is, on average, some of the newest in the nation. The town does seem to be experiencing an influx of affluent people, because the median household income in Cave Creek is $78,245.

Cave Creek is a decidedly white-collar town, with fully 88.90% of the workforce employed in white-collar jobs, well above the national average. Overall, Cave Creek is a town of sales and office workers, managers, and professionals. Also of interest is that Cave Creek has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 8.45% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

In Cave Creek, however, the average commute to work is quite long. On average, people spend 32.58 minutes each day getting to work, which is significantly higher than the national average.

Residents of Cave Creek by-and-large get to work each day by driving: 97.2% use their own cars for their daily commute, making it a very car-oriented town. While Cave Creek may be a convenient place for driving around town, the negative aspect of this is that places that are suitable for walking or bicycling to and from work or stores may be few and far between. In general, car-oriented communities emphasize roads and convenience of driving, but not have a lot of walking-friendly areas to get from home to work, and tend not to have a lot of public transportation options.
