About Lilburn

Lilburn is a somewhat small city located in the state of Georgia. With a population of 11,350 people and six constituent neighborhoods, Lilburn is the 86th largest community in Georgia.

Unlike some cities, Lilburn isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Lilburn are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Lilburn is a city of sales and office workers, professionals, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Lilburn who work in office and administrative support jobs (17.08%), sales jobs (10.94%), and management occupations (9.69%).

Also of interest is that Lilburn has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

Because of many things, Lilburn is a very good place for families to consider. With an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, college-educated neighbors who tend to support education because of their own experiences, and a high rate of home ownership in predominantly single-family properties, Lilburn really has some of the features that families look for when choosing a good community to raise children. Is Lilburn perfect? Of course not, and if you like frenetic night life, it will be far from your cup of tea. But overall this is a solid community, with many things to recommend it as a family-friendly place to live.

Lilburn is very much a car-oriented city. This is because the population of Lilburn isn't large enough or dense enough to support an extensive public transit system. It has a lot of rural roads, and the distance between houses can be quite large, which together tends to discourage walking and bicycling to work. 97.11% of residents commute to work in their own car (and the drive is typically to a job out of town). People also tend to drive out of town for other services as well, such as shopping, doctors appointments, and more.

Lilburn is a small city, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
