Durango is a somewhat small city located in the state of Colorado. With a population of 14,021 people and five constituent neighborhoods, Durango is the 35th largest community in Colorado.

Durango is a decidedly white-collar city, with fully 85.90% of the workforce employed in white-collar jobs, well above the national average. Overall, Durango is a city of sales and office workers, professionals, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Durango who work in office and administrative support jobs (13.99%), sales jobs (12.17%), and food service (11.95%).

Durango is a small town where college students really create the town feel and character. So many small towns have lost population over the last 20-30 years that having the local college presence in the Durango area, with all of the energy of the students filling area dorms and apartments each fall, really helps Durango maintain a good economy.
