Mountain View is a larger medium-sized coastal city (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of California. With a population of 70,467 people and 17 constituent neighborhoods, Mountain View is the 93rd largest community in California.

Mountain View is a decidedly white-collar city, with fully 89.80% of the workforce employed in white-collar jobs, well above the national average. Overall, Mountain View is a city of professionals, managers, and sales and office workers. There are especially a lot of people living in Mountain View who work in management occupations (15.41%), computer science and math (14.27%), and office and administrative support jobs (10.58%).
