About England

England is a very small city located in the state of Arkansas. With a population of 2,980 people and three constituent neighborhoods, England is the 123rd largest community in Arkansas.

Unlike some cities where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, England is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, England is a city of sales and office workers, professionals, and production and manufacturing workers. There are especially a lot of people living in England who work in office and administrative support jobs (13.59%), sales jobs (12.40%), and teaching (9.30%).

England is a small city, and as is often the case with smaller towns, the population isn't large or dense enough to support much in the way of a public transportation system. In fact, there are many rural roads around England, which makes walking or biking to and from work a bit difficult. This makes for a very car-oriented town: 96.97% of residents commute to work by private automobile, and people often drive out of town for work, shopping, and other activities.

Being a small city, England does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.

England Information and Demographics

The percentage of adults in England with college degrees is slightly lower than the national average of 14.96% for all communities. 13.43% of adults in England have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.

The per capita income in England in 2000 was $14,095, which is middle income relative to Arkansas, and lower middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $56,380 for a family of four.
