Kenai is a somewhat small coastal city (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of Alaska. With a population of 6,936 people and six constituent neighborhoods, Kenai is the 9th largest community in Alaska.

Unlike some cities where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Kenai is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Kenai is a city of sales and office workers, service providers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Kenai who work in office and administrative support jobs (15.75%), sales jobs (10.29%), and food service (6.02%).

One of the nice things about Kenai is that is it nautical, meaning that parts of the city are somewhat historic and on the ocean, or touch tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and tidal rivers.
