Mount Pleasant is a very small borough located in the state of Pennsylvania. With a population of 4,689 people and three constituent neighborhoods, Mount Pleasant is the 379th largest community in Pennsylvania. Much of the housing stock in Mount Pleasant was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic boroughs in the country.

Unlike some boroughs where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Mount Pleasant is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Mount Pleasant is a borough of sales and office workers, professionals, and service providers.
