About Lititz

Lititz is a somewhat small borough located in the state of Pennsylvania. With a population of 9,029 people and five constituent neighborhoods, Lititz is the 162nd largest community in Pennsylvania. Lititz has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic boroughs in the country.

Unlike some boroughs, Lititz isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Lititz are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Lititz is a borough of sales and office workers, professionals, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Lititz who work in office and administrative support jobs (16.32%), sales jobs (13.39%), and teaching (8.85%).

Also of interest is that Lititz has more people living here who work in computers and math than 95% of the places in the US.

Because of many things, Lititz is a very good place for families to consider. With an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, college-educated neighbors who tend to support education because of their own experiences, and a high rate of home ownership in predominantly single-family properties, Lititz really has some of the features that families look for when choosing a good community to raise children. Is Lititz perfect? Of course not, and if you like frenetic night life, it will be far from your cup of tea. But overall this is a solid community, with many things to recommend it as a family-friendly place to live.

As is often the case in a small borough, Lititz doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

Lititz Information and Demographics

In terms of college education, Lititz is somewhat better educated than the 14.96% who have a 4-year degree or higher in the typical US community: 24.14% of adults 25 and older in the borough have at least a bachelor's degree.

The per capita income in Lititz in 2000 was $20,601, which is upper middle income relative to Pennsylvania and the nation. This equates to an annual income of $82,404 for a family of four.

The people who call Lititz home come from a variety of different races and ancestries. The most prevalent race in Lititz is White, followed by Asian. Important ancestries of people in Lititz include German, Irish, English, and Italian.

The most common language spoken in Lititz is English.
