Eucha is a very small town located in the state of Oklahoma. With a population of 1,759 people and just one neighborhood, Eucha is the 185th largest community in Oklahoma.
Because occupations involving physical labor dominate the local economy, Eucha is generally considered to be a blue-collar town. 37.5% of the Eucha workforce is employed in blue-collar occupations, compared to the national average of 24.7%. Overall, Eucha is a town of sales and office workers, service providers, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Eucha who work in sales jobs (12.74%), office and administrative support jobs (9.93%), and management occupations (6.07%).
Eucha is a major vacation destination. Much of the town's population is seasonal: many people own second homes and only live there part-time, during the vacation season. The effect on the local economy is that many of the businesses are dependant on tourist dollars, and may operate only during the high season. As the vacation season ends, Eucha's population drops significantly, such that year-round residents will notice that the city is a much quieter place to live.
One downside of living in Eucha, however, is that residents on average have to contend with a long commute, spending on average 34.19 minutes every day commuting to work.
As is often the case in a small town, Eucha doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
The citizens of Eucha have a very low rate of college education: just 8.53% of people over 25 have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree, compared to a national average of 14.96% for all cities.
The per capita income in Eucha in 2000 was $11,032, which is low income relative to Oklahoma and the nation. This equates to an annual income of $44,128 for a family of four.
