Wildwood is a somewhat small coastal city (ie. on the ocean or tidally-influenced rivers) located in the state of New Jersey. With a population of 5,545 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Wildwood is the 315th largest community in New Jersey.

Unlike some cities, Wildwood isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Wildwood are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Wildwood is a city of sales and office workers, service providers, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Wildwood who work in sales jobs (15.49%), office and administrative support jobs (13.32%), and food service (9.72%).

Wildwood is an extremely popular vacation destination. A significant portion of the population is seasonal. During the vacation season, the city experiences a large influx of people who take up residence in second homes they own in the area. As the vacation season ends, the population drops again, leaving behind a substantially quieter and smaller city.

The city is also nautical, which means that parts of Wildwood are somewhat historic and bounded by the ocean or tidal bodies of water, such as inlets and tidal rivers. Such areas are often places that visitors and locals go for waterfront activities or taking in the scenery.
