About Wahoo

Wahoo is a very small city located in the state of Nebraska. With a population of 4,508 people and just one neighborhood, Wahoo is the 63rd largest community in Nebraska. Wahoo has a large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic cities in the country.

Unlike some cities where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Wahoo is neither predominantly one nor the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Wahoo is a city of sales and office workers, service providers and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Wahoo who work in office and administrative support (12.94%), sales jobs (10.59%) and food service (7.25%).

Because of many things, Wahoo is a great place for families with children to consider. First of all, many other families with children live here, making Wahoo a place where both parents and children are more likely to develop social ties with other families, as well as find family-oriented services and community. The city’s good public school district and large population of college-educated adults provide an environment conducive to academic values. With regard to real estate, Wahoo has a high rate of owner-occupied single family homes, which tends to reflect stability in the local community. Finally, Wahoo’s overall crime rate is lower than average for the country.

Residents will find that the city is relatively quiet. This is because it is not over-populated, and it has fewer college students, renters, and young children - all of whom can be noisy at times. So, if you're looking for a relatively peaceful place to live, Wahoo is worth considering.

Residents of the city have the good fortune of having one of the shortest daily commutes compared to the rest of the country. On average, they spend only 18.20 minutes getting to work every day.

As is often the case in a small city, Wahoo doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
