Wing is a tiny town located in the state of North Dakota. With a population of 379 people and just one neighborhood, Wing is the 111st largest community in North Dakota.
Wing is neither predominently blue-collar or white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Wing is a town of managers, sales and office workers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Wing who work in farm management (28.98%), management occupations (10.80%), and office and administrative support jobs (9.66%).
Another important characteristic of Wing is that a lot of people work in agricultural jobs, especially compared to most other communities in America, and there are quite a number of farms in town.
One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their homes - 24.43% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
One of the benefits of Wing is that there is very little traffic. The average commute to work is 18.16 minutes, which is substantially less than the national average. Not only does this mean that the drive to work is less aggravating, but noise and pollution levels are lower as a result.
As is often the case in a small town, Wing doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
The citizens of Wing are slightly less educated than the national average of 14.96% for the average city or town: 13.49% of adults in Wing have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
