About Granville

Granville is a tiny town located in the state of North Dakota. With a population of 640 people and just one neighborhood, Granville is the 91st largest community in North Dakota.

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Granville is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Granville is a town of sales and office workers, service providers, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Granville who work in office and administrative support jobs (17.92%), farm management (11.83%), and sales jobs (7.53%).

You will also find that a lot of people in Granville work in agricultural jobs - much more than in the average community in America. This will be quite apparent if you drive around town, as much of the landscape is dedicated to farms.

A relatively large number of people in Granville telecommute to their jobs. Overall, about 8.63% of the workforce works from home. While this may seem like a small number, as a fraction of the total workforce it ranks among the highest in the country. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

As is often the case in a small town, Granville doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
