Ashley is a very small town located in the state of North Dakota. With a population of 1,236 people and just one neighborhood, Ashley is the 57th largest community in North Dakota.
Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Ashley is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Ashley is a town of sales and office workers, managers, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Ashley who work in office and administrative support jobs (16.77%), farm management (13.04%), and sales jobs (7.25%).

Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 14.05% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
