About Riverside

Riverside is a very small town located in the state of Missouri. With a population of 2,839 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Riverside is the 218th largest community in Missouri.

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Riverside is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Riverside is a town of sales and office workers, service providers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Riverside who work in office and administrative support jobs (19.64%), sales jobs (11.43%), and management occupations (7.43%).

Riverside is a small town, and as is often the case with smaller towns, the population isn't large or dense enough to support much in the way of a public transportation system. In fact, there are many rural roads around Riverside, which makes walking or biking to and from work a bit difficult. This makes for a very car-oriented town: 98.57% of residents commute to work by private automobile, and people often drive out of town for work, shopping, and other activities.

Riverside is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.

Riverside Information and Demographics

In terms of college education, Riverside is somewhat better educated than the 14.96% who have a 4-year degree or higher in the typical US community: 19.97% of adults 25 and older in the town have at least a bachelor's degree.

The per capita income in Riverside in 2000 was $17,248, which is upper middle income relative to Missouri, and middle income relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $68,992 for a family of four.

Riverside is a somewhat ethnically-diverse town. The people who call Riverside home come from a variety of different races and ancestries. The most prevalent race in Riverside is White, followed by African-American. Important ancestries of people in Riverside include German, English, Irish, Scotch-Irish, and Scottish.

The most common language spoken in Riverside is English. Some people also speak Spanish.
