About Rothsay

Rothsay is a very small town located in the state of Minnesota. With a population of 1,187 people and just one neighborhood, Rothsay is the 351st largest community in Minnesota. Rothsay has a large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.

Rothsay is neither predominently blue-collar or white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Rothsay is a town of sales and office workers, managers, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Rothsay who work in farm management (12.59%), office and administrative support jobs (12.41%), and sales jobs (9.09%).

Another important characteristic of Rothsay is that a lot of people work in agricultural jobs, especially compared to most other communities in America, and there are quite a number of farms in town.

Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 14.13% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

Rothsay is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
