Grand Meadow has a large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.
Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Grand Meadow is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Grand Meadow is a town of sales and office workers, service providers, and professionals. One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their homes - 8.33% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.
Grand Meadow is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
The citizens of Grand Meadow are slightly less educated than the national average of 14.96% for the average city or town: 13.38% of adults in Grand Meadow have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
