About Lynch

Lynch is a tiny town located in the state of Kentucky. With a population of 951 people and just one neighborhood, Lynch is the 261st largest community in Kentucky. Lynch has a large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Lynch is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Lynch is a town of professionals, sales and office workers, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Lynch who work in teaching (13.46%), office and administrative support jobs (13.08%), and sales jobs (12.31%).

Lynch is a very car-oriented town. 99.23% of residents commute to work in a private automobile rather than by other means, such as public transit, bicycling, or walking. This is because Lynch is a small town, and most people who live here have to drive out of town for work, and the town population is not large nor dense enough to support an extensive public transportation system. Lynch has a lot of rural roads, and houses can be far apart. Many residents drive out of town for regular shopping trips as well.

Being a small town, Lynch does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.

Lynch Information and Demographics

In Lynch, just 8.64% of people over 25 hold a college degree, which is very low compared to the rest of the nation, whereas the average among all cities is 14.96%.
