About Valley Falls

Valley Falls is a very small town located in the state of Kansas. With a population of 2,543 people and just one neighborhood, Valley Falls is the 112nd largest community in Kansas. Valley Falls has a large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.

Unlike some towns , Valley Falls isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Valley Falls are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Valley Falls is a town of sales and office workers, professionals, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Valley Falls who work in office and administrative support jobs (18.19%), sales jobs (8.23%), and farm management (6.09%).

Another important characteristic of Valley Falls is that a lot of people work in agricultural jobs, especially compared to most other communities in America, and there are quite a number of farms in town.

Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 8.06% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

Because of many things, Valley Falls is a very good place for families to consider. With an enviable combination of good schools, low crime, college-educated neighbors who tend to support education because of their own experiences, and a high rate of home ownership in predominantly single-family properties, Valley Falls really has some of the features that families look for when choosing a good community to raise children. Is Valley Falls perfect? Of course not, and if you like frenetic night life, it will be far from your cup of tea. But overall this is a solid community, with many things to recommend it as a family-friendly place to live.

Valley Falls is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
