Elwood is a very small town located in the state of Illinois. With a population of 3,493 people and two constituent neighborhoods, Elwood is the 382nd largest community in Illinois.

Unlike some towns where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Elwood is neither predominently one or the other. Instead, it has a mixed workforce of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Elwood is a town of sales and office workers, construction workers and builders, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Elwood who work in office and administrative support jobs (15.39%), sales jobs (11.32%), and management occupations (7.70%).

As is often the case in a small town, Elwood doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
