About Durand

Durand is a very small village located in the state of Illinois. With a population of 1,086 people and just one neighborhood, Durand is the 597th largest community in Illinois.

Unlike some villages where white-collar or blue-collar occupations dominate the local economy, Durand is neither predominently one or the other. There are especially a lot of people living in Durand who work in office and administrative support jobs (17.08%), sales jobs (7.29%), and healthcare (5.57%).

Because of many things, Durand is a great place for families with children to consider. First of all, many other families with children live here, making Durand a place where both parents and children are more likely to develop social ties with other families, as well as find family-oriented services and community. The village's good public school district and large population of college-educated adults provide an environment conducive to academic values. With regard to real estate, Durand has a high rate of owner-occupied single family homes, which tends to reflect stability in the local community. Finally, Durand's overall crime rate is lower than average for the country.

As is often the case in a small village, Durand doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.
