About Everly

Everly is a very small town located in the state of Iowa. With a population of 1,143 people and just one neighborhood, Everly is the 290th largest community in Iowa. Much of the housing stock in Everly was built prior to World War II, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.

When you are in Everly, you'll notice that it is more blue-collar than most other communities in America. 41.4% of Everly's employed work in blue-collar jobs, while America averages only 24.7% that do. Overall, Everly is a town of sales and office workers, production and manufacturing workers, and service providers. There are especially a lot of people living in Everly who work in sales jobs (10.54%), office and administrative support jobs (7.60%), and farm management (6.22%).

In addition, many people in Everly have jobs in agriculture, more so than in most other communities in America. As a result, you will see quite a number of farms around town.

One interesting thing about the economy is that relatively large numbers of people worked from their homes - 7.54% of the workforce. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce this is high compared to the rest of the county. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

Everly is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
