About Clutier

Clutier is a tiny town located in the state of Iowa. With a population of 555 people and just one neighborhood, Clutier is the 332nd largest community in Iowa. Clutier has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.

When you are in Clutier, you'll notice that it is more blue-collar than most other communities in America. 40.9% of Clutier's employed work in blue-collar jobs, while America averages only 24.7% that do. Overall, Clutier is a town of sales and office workers, service providers, and construction workers and builders. There are especially a lot of people living in Clutier who work in sales jobs (13.89%), office and administrative support jobs (7.94%), and farm management (7.54%).

One downside of living in Clutier, however, is that residents on average have to contend with a long commute, spending on average 30.36 minutes every day commuting to work.

Clutier is a very car-oriented town. 97.03% of residents commute to work in a private automobile rather than by other means, such as public transit, bicycling, or walking. This is because Clutier is a small town, and most people who live here have to drive out of town for work, and the town population is not large nor dense enough to support an extensive public transportation system. Clutier has a lot of rural roads, and houses can be far apart. Many residents drive out of town for regular shopping trips as well.

Clutier is a small town, and as such doesn't have a public transit system that people use to get to and from their jobs every day.
