Halawa is a somewhat small town located in the state of Hawaii. With a population of 13,955 people and four constituent neighborhoods, Halawa is the 17th largest community in Hawaii.

The armed forces are a huge part of the life in Halawa, employing 6.20% of the workforce. While it is a military town, the civilian sector still plays an important role in the local economy, where the Retail and Public Service industries employ 13.74% and 11.58% of the civilian workforce, respectively.
