About Martinez

Martinez is a medium-sized town located in the state of Georgia. With a population of 27,553 people and six constituent neighborhoods, Martinez is the 27th largest community in Georgia.

Martinez is neither predominently blue-collar or white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Martinez is a town of professionals, sales and office workers, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Martinez who work in office and administrative support jobs (13.56%), sales jobs (11.77%), and healthcare (10.64%).

Because of many things, Martinez is a great place for families with children to consider. First of all, many other families with children live here, making Martinez a place where both parents and children are more likely to develop social ties with other families, as well as find family-oriented services and community. The town's good public school district and large population of college-educated adults provide an environment conducive to academic values. With regard to real estate, Martinez has a high rate of owner-occupied single family homes, which tends to reflect stability in the local community. Finally, Martinez's overall crime rate is lower than average for the country.

Residents of Martinez by-and-large get to work each day by driving: 99.3% use their own cars for their daily commute, making it a very car-oriented town. While Martinez may be a convenient place for driving around town, the negative aspect of this is that places that are suitable for walking or bicycling to and from work or stores may be few and far between. In general, car-oriented communities emphasize roads and convenience of driving, but not have a lot of walking-friendly areas to get from home to work, and tend not to have a lot of public transportation options.

As is often the case in a small town, Martinez doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

Martinez Information and Demographics
