About Kendall

Kendall is a larger medium-sized town located in the state of Florida. With a population of 75,279 people and six constituent neighborhoods, Kendall is the 26th largest community in Florida.

Kendall is a decidedly white-collar town, with fully 89.46% of the workforce employed in white-collar jobs, well above the national average. Overall, Kendall is a town of sales and office workers, professionals, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Kendall who work in office and administrative support jobs (17.15%), sales jobs (15.65%), and management occupations (13.02%).

One thing that you will notice about Kendall is that there is a good-sized population of people who are young, single, educated, and upwardly-mobile career starters. Many singles consider Kendall a good place to live without being in a really big city, with opportunities for friendships and fun with others like themselves.

In addition to being popular with young singles, Kendall is also home to many people who can be described as "urban sophisticates." While both of these categories describe educated professionals, urban sophisticates are quite a different demographic. Urban sophisticates are people who are both educated and wealthy, and thus tend to be older, richer, and more established than young professionals. "Urban sophisticates" is not just about being educated and well-off financially: it is a point of view and state of mind, one that you might call 'urbaneness.' But such people can and do regularly live in small towns, suburbs and rural areas, as well as in big cities. They read, support the arts and high-end shops, and love travel.

In Kendall, however, the average commute to work is quite long. On average, people spend 31.96 minutes each day getting to work, which is significantly higher than the national average.

Kendall is a decent-sized town, yet no one gets to work using public transit, because the town has no real transit system.

Kendall Information and Demographics

The per capita income in Kendall in 2000 was $27,914, which is upper middle income relative to Florida, and wealthy relative to the rest of the US. This equates to an annual income of $111,656 for a family of four.

Kendall is a somewhat ethnically-diverse town. The people who call Kendall home come from a variety of different races and ancestries.
