About Fleming

Fleming is a tiny town located in the state of Colorado. With a population of 926 people and just one neighborhood, Fleming is the 155th largest community in Colorado. Fleming has an unusually large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.

Fleming is neither predominently blue-collar or white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Fleming is a town of sales and office workers, professionals, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Fleming who work in office and administrative support jobs (12.60%), farm management (11.05%), and teaching (9.25%).

Another important characteristic of Fleming is that a lot of people work in agricultural jobs, especially compared to most other communities in America, and there are quite a number of farms in town.

Telecommuters are a relatively large percentage of the workforce: 13.68% of people work from home. While this number may seem small overall, as a fraction of the total workforce it is high relative to the nation. These workers are often telecommuters who work in knowledge-based, white-collar professions. For example, Silicon Valley has large numbers of people who telecommute. Other at-home workers may be self-employed people who operate small businesses out of their homes.

As is often the case in a small town, Fleming doesn't have a public transportation system that people use for their commute.

Fleming Information and Demographics

The percentage of adults in Fleming who are college-educated is close to the national average for all communities of 14.96%: 14.85% of the adults in Fleming have a bachelor's degree or advanced degree.
