About Eaton

Eaton is a somewhat small town located in the state of Colorado. With a population of 5,532 people and just one neighborhood, Eaton is the 70th largest community in Colorado. Eaton has a large stock of pre-World War II architecture, making it one of the older and more historic towns in the country.

Eaton is neither predominently blue-collar or white-collar, instead having a mixed workforce of both blue-collar and white-collar jobs. Overall, Eaton is a town of sales and office workers, managers, and professionals. There are especially a lot of people living in Eaton who work in office and administrative support jobs (14.49%), sales jobs (10.28%), and management occupations (8.76%).

You will also find that a lot of people in Eaton work in agricultural jobs - much more than in the average community in America. This will be quite apparent if you drive around town, as much of the landscape is dedicated to farms.

Eaton is very much a car-oriented town. This is because the population of Eaton isn't large enough or dense enough to support an extensive public transit system. It has a lot of rural roads, and the distance between houses can be quite large, which together tends to discourage walking and bicycling to work. 97.02% of residents commute to work in their own car (and the drive is typically to a job out of town). People also tend to drive out of town for other services as well, such as shopping, doctors appointments, and more.

Being a small town, Eaton does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.
