About Pinetop

Pinetop is a somewhat small town located in the state of Arizona. With a population of 5,369 people and just one neighborhood, Pinetop is the 71st largest community in Arizona.

Unlike some towns , Pinetop isn't mainly white- or blue-collar. Instead, the most prevalent occupations for people in Pinetop are a mix of both white- and blue-collar jobs. Overall, Pinetop is a town of sales and office workers, professionals, and managers. There are especially a lot of people living in Pinetop who work in sales jobs (14.87%), office and administrative support jobs (12.96%), and management occupations (12.16%).

Pinetop is an extremely popular destination for tourists and seasonal residents. So much of the population is seasonal such that the town's population swells significantly during the vacation season, and drops again when the season ends. Because of this, much of the local economy is centered around tourism; some businesses may be operated only during the high season. During the low season, year-round residents will notice that the city is a substantially quieter place to live.

Residents of the town have the good fortune of having one of the shortest daily commutes compared to the rest of the country. On average, they spend only 18.69 minutes getting to work every day.

Pinetop is a very car-oriented town. 97.8% of residents commute to work in a private automobile rather than by other means, such as public transit, bicycling, or walking. This is because Pinetop is a small town, and most people who live here have to drive out of town for work, and the town population is not large nor dense enough to support an extensive public transportation system. Pinetop has a lot of rural roads, and houses can be far apart. Many residents drive out of town for regular shopping trips as well.

Being a small town, Pinetop does not have a public transit system used by locals to get to and from work.
